Pickler was born Kellie dawn Pickler on June 28, 1986. The young woman had a troubled childhood. At the age of two she left her mother's unfaithful relationship. Pickler was reunited with her mom in the year 1995 when she assumed custody. But things did not turn around as planned. Pickler aged 12 was remanded to her parents by the judge. They raised her till she was old enough to be an adult. Pickler with the help of her parents as well as her elder siblings, became too busy to become a mom. She admitted she no longer had time to study and started learning how to become a housekeeper in her early years. Pickler was a member of the cheerleading teams at both her high school and middle school. Pickler graduated in 2004 at North Stanly High School. Pickler is also a seasoned beauty queen.
