Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress and songwriter for several years. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by many people in America. When she went to school contests and received high praise for her singing at the age of 9, the girl began to gain confidence. The singer not only gained confidence from the experience however, she also re-evaluate her the direction of her career. In 1992, she received her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. The greatest achievement of her career was when she played The Lady Of The Lake on Spamalot's original Broadway production. Not only did she win the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by critics. In the year following, she joined the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. As a well-known singer, she also has released an album and a musical. Also, she's been an advocate for LGBT concerns.
